Social Distance Ceremony?

The Province of Ontario has begun issuing marriage licenses again for couples who want to get married on their special date.

Many couples have already chosen to move their wedding to 2021 (when we they can hopefully have ALL their family + friends in attendance). However, a few of our 2020 brides are still very much wanting to be married on their original date.

Now, you can do just that!

The requirements for a Socially Distanced Ceremony are:

~ 5 people maximum in attendance (Officiant, the couple and their 2 witnesses)

~ Each person must use their own pen

~ masks, hand sanitizer and gloves must be worn

~ Ceremonies to be held outdoors, with everyone 2 metres apart (except for the couple of course)

~ live streaming of the ceremony for your family + friends to witness the ceremony is encouraged

The local issuing Municipal Offices DO NOT want couples to obtain a license if your wedding date is still a few weeks/months away. With all the necessary documentation online completed and your appointment set with the issuing office, obtaining your license will only take about 20 minutes. Your marriage license is good for 90 days from being issued. As the offices begin to open they are experiencing large volumes of requests for every sort of license application.
